The story behind the collection

Flavor holds
memory.

Marygold brings together the two practices that have defined my adult life: food and art.

Food holds memory—the pie your grandmother made, the vanilla birthday cake from childhood, the taste of a holiday you never forget. Marygold turns that idea into artisan, small-batch granola made from scratch, with familiar, nostalgic flavors given a gourmet twist.

Each flavor is paired with original artwork from my 30-year practice, along with corresponding prints, stickers and merchandise—and, over time, the work of artists from around the world.

Why Marygold? The Y is intentional. I named Marygold in honor of my grandmother, a lifelong businesswoman who owned Mary Lee’s Poodle Shoppe in the 1970s. Her independence, determination and imagination showed me what it meant for a woman to build something of her own.

“The food and the art aren’t separate parts of the business. Together, they are the point.”
One more Marygold rule:

Life is uncertain.
Eat dessert first.
